In the restaurant business the busiest holidays happen to be Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. So, needless to say, these are the two holidays that Gregory will NEVER have off. He even had to go into work the Sunday morning after his sister’s wedding because it was Mother’s Day. He drove 5 and a half hours the night of the reception just to get back home so he could sleep a few hours before going in at 5am! Dedication? Yes. Suck-y? Yes. Reality? Yes.
This Father’s Day was no different than any other. He was working all weekend and I took the time off work so I could spend it with my dad on his farm. I asked my mom and Bill if they wanted to go, they did. So, I packed our bags and we left Gregory at home. I hated doing that to him. But, the reality of it all was that he wasn’t even going to be around and if he was, he’d be completely exhausted from his work-day.
I don’t have many pictures from the weekend because I reluctantly forgot the camera. But I do have these few pictures that were taken by my dad’s friend.

For you, Dad
Delightful and loving,
Loved and admired,
Dad, you're my hero,
My life you've inspired.
And when all my blessings
Are counted each day,
I thank God in heaven
For Dad when I pray.
Dad thanks for your presence
Throughout thick and thin;
You're more than a parent,
You're my wonderful friend.
